For the first time in the series, which is designed to offer a different flavour experience year on year, The Macallan Whisky Mastery Team had the freedom the explore The Macallan’s different cask types to create the peerless single malt.
The Macallan Whisky Maker, Polly Logan used her skill and experience to craft the expression using a combination of sherry seasoned European oak casks and ex-bourbon American oak casks to create a single malt with a unique flavour and character.
TASTING NOTES
COLOUR
Sunlit straw.
NOSE
Vanilla with candied orange peel and honey, sweet sultana and raisin with fresh oak and thyme.
PALATE
Ginger warmth, sweet orange, vanilla and honey with a fresh vibrant oak.
FINISH
Sweet and zingy which travels through to lingering fresh thyme.
