Created in 2009 by Sukhinder and Rajbir Singh of Elixir Distillers, the Port Askaig range is named after the small harbour on Islay’s north-eastern coast, one of the island’s historic gateways. This 16 Year Old 2008 showcases spirit from Caol Ila, the distillery closest to the port and renowned for its bright, coastal, gently smoky style. True to its origins, this single malt delivers a vivid immersion into Islay’s maritime world, combining sea spray and peat with fresh fruit and pastoral softness.
This bottling appears in La Maison du Whisky’s Itinéraires catalogue, a collection that highlights whiskies, rums and fine spirits chosen for how clearly they express their distillery style and regional identity.
