Ichiro's Chichibu Malts Paris Edition 2021 ABV 53.5% 70cl with Gift Box

The result of the exceptional know-how of Ichiro Akuto, founder of Ichiro's Malt distillery, this limited edition Paris Edition 2021 is composed of several barley varieties: Concerto, Peated Concerto, Venture, Braemar, Tipple and Propino.

For this edition, we find a blend of :

• 5 casks from 2013: one peated first fill Bourbon, one Port cask (Pipe) and 3 virgin oak casks.
• And 3 casks from 2014: a red wine cask and 2 casks of Chibidaru Quarter Cask.

It was bottled in 2021, for only 1,847 bottles.

Tasting notes

• Nose: aromas of fine spices, candied vanilla, excessively buttery toffee, orchard fruits in juice in syrup
• Palate: notes of dry wood, fine spices, fine exotic fruits in syrup mixed together. A nice velvety, creamy feel.
• Finish: fine, subtle, a beautiful persistence, like a nectar

Chichibu whisky

It did not take long after its creation in 2008 for Chichibu Japanese single malt whisky to be recognised among Japanese whisky lovers, as well as whisky connoisseurs in general.

Produced entirely in the distillery, and in particular for certain vintages from local barley and peat, even from Japanese oak, Chichibu has succeeded in becoming the very first 100% Japanese whisky, thanks to the efforts of its creator, Ichiro Akuto.

Fermented in vats made of mizunara, a highly prized variety of Japanese oak, and distilled in small stills, Chichibu whiskies are astonishing in their maturity and complexity, even at a very young age. A true craftsman's whisky.
