Lowland 13 Year Old 2007 Reserve Casks Parcel No.7 Elixir Distillers ABV 48% 700ml
Distilled in 2007, this single malt from an anonymous distillery in the Lowlands was bottled from a batch of just three barrels. This whiskey with a soft and light character brings a spring spirit with its beautiful notes of undergrowth and dried herbs. The Single Malts of Scotland Reserve Casks are a taste exploration. Bottled in small batches of four to six casks, each bottling showcases the variety of styles and flavors found across Scotland, as well as the different parts of the angels specific to each region. Bottled at 48% uncolored or chill-filtered, Reserve Casks casks are intended to suit novice and expert palates alike.
A 2007 Lowland single malt from a mystery distillery that was matured in a pair of ex-bourbon barrels and one ex-sherry butt for 13 years, before being bottled in 2021 by Elixir Distillers, as part of its Single Malts of Scotland Reserve Cask Parcel 7. Aromas of grapefruit, juicy raisins, grape-flavoured bubble gum and flinty river rock pools fill the nose, complemented by notes of grapefruit juice, flaky shortcrust pastry, burnt caramel, treacle cake and lemon juice throughout the palate.

NOSE
Initially sharp, with notes of grapefruit pith, softening out with a drop of water into aromas of juicy raisins and grape bubble gum. A slightly fresh and flinty quality, reminiscent of river rock pools, appears to add a characterful edge.
-
PALATE
A glass of freshly squeezed grapefruit juice initially, followed by flaky, buttery shortcrust pastry. This proceeds into intense, rich burnt caramel notes - like
that of a treacle cake left a little too long in the oven.
-
FINISH
A tanginess rests on, like that of concentrated lemon juice.
