Despite its looks, which most of all reminds pure whiskey, the Drambuie ("the satisfying beverage"), produced in the Scottish isle of Skye, is mostly made of honey, a mixture of plants and herbs. This is a strong liqueur (40%) with a very sweet and characteristic flavor. The drink is generally consumed neat on the rocks in a lowball glass, or used as a base for cocktails.Ā
