In 2016, following major expansion work, Kavalan joined the very closed circle of the ten largest distilleries in the world. Equipped with five mash tuns, forty stainless steel washbacks where fermentation lasts between 60 and 72 hours, ten wash stills and ten spirit stills with a respective capacity of 12,000 litres and 7,000 litres, the distillery has an annual production capacity of 9 million litres of pure alcohol. Seeped in the noble flavours and aromas imparted through its port cask maturation, this version has carefully preserved a beautiful malt backbone throughout the entire tasting.
